Hello Friends! Salaam Namaste!
How are you guys doing? *

If you are from India, you are very well aware about the fact that Navratri starts today! *drum rolls * But, if you are not from India, here is a brief update about what Navratri is!
Also spelled Navaratri or Navarathri, is a multi-day Hindu festival celebrated in the autumn every year. It is observed for different reasons and celebrated differently in various parts of India.
Celebrations include stage decorations, recital of the legend, enacting of the story, and chanting of the scriptures of Hinduism. The nine days are also a major crop season cultural event, such as competitive design and staging of pandals, where Devi Durga is worshiped, a family visit to these pandals and the public celebration of classical and folk dances of Hindu culture. On the final day, called the Vijayadashami or Dussehra, the statues are either immersed in a water body such as river and ocean, or alternatively the statue symbolizing the evil is burnt with fireworks marking evil’s destruction. The festival also starts the preparation for one of the most important and widely celebrated holidays, Diwali, the festival of lights, which is celebrated twenty days after the Vijayadashami or Dussehra.
How are Navratri colours decided and why do they change every year? The first colour of the Navratri is decided based on the week day when the festival begins. The remaining eight days then follow a fixed cycle of colors. Each day is dedicated to one particular form of Goddess Durga.
So, I decided to do a series of #ootd posts for each day of Navratri! 9 days of posts! I am not sure if I can force someone to click my pic daily, haha, *I need to buy a tripod real soon *, but I will try my best to be regular! These will be small posts and I might post 2-3 pics for every post may be depending on how I manage. And these will be mostly casual outfits, western or Indian. But for now, lets get into the post!
So, today is the first day and the colour of the day is “Yellow”.
Here is what I wore:
I paired my bright yellow tunic with my black leggings with it! I wore this to work and I love it how its so much fun to add colors to work-wear! This is one of my favorite tunic, cause it is floral, has full voluminous sleeves and its so bright and colourful!
Since comfort is the most important factor when I choose work-wear, cause I will be in this outfit for 10 hours! So, it better be comfortable! I chose this black slip on sneakers for comfy-feet! Bright orange Lips completed the look!
Outfit Details:
Tunic- All about You by Deepika Padukone- Myntra
Sneakers- Pantaloons
